So, there is a phone that is currently in the phase of getting funds from Indiegogo, and it's sort of like this phone/desktop hybrid. It's small enough to carry around, but it also runs a desktop OS, namely Windows 10. It's a really cool concept, you can help out by funding it here: www.indiegogo.com/projects/syn…
Confirm Quit dialogs exposed
You know what I hate? The popup window when I try to quit a program with unsaved work. They're inconsistent, and are frequently very ambiguous as to what you're confirming.
Take Gravit Designer as an example. When you have something that's not been saved recently and you try to close, it asks you if you want to exit instead of if you want to save.
On the other hand, you have GIMP with a well designed quit dialog. If something hasn't been saved, then the popup window contains the projects that are unsaved, and gives 2 clear options: Cancel, or Discard Changes.
yes i know there are 3 options there but help doesn't count because nobody uses i
New design challenge
I'm alive :dummy: I saw this on Dribbble, and it looked like a great idea: https://dribbble.com/shots/2042501-Potato-landing-page
I don't know if I'll go the same route and make product pages or if I'm going to just make designs based/inspired by fruits and vegetables, but I'll definitely actually do this maybe!
this is something that you care about
haha, it's totally not though
old projects
So recently I found a bunch of old, unfinished Blender projects on my hard drive. I decided I may as well go through and finish them all up, if only for the sake of completion. Look forward to that! Or don't. You probably don't. Really, you can be honest

While I do like the concept, (I wonder who made the design...?), I really don't think it is going to take off. You see, in order to really run Win10 on there, you'd need at least a 1080P display with, I guess around 5.5 to 5.7" diameter, one that would be hideously expensive to produce if we are not talking about mass production. And even if, I don't really see the innovation. We already managed to put a windows or linux operating system on a handheld device, but it's just not designed to be used like that. You are severely lacking screen real estate, and that makes quick navigation in your every day life feel choppy and unprecise. Would you really want to be required to press a tiny little icon to be able to send a text? In the end, it would just be easier to take a notebook with you.
I mean, have you looked at the disadvantages of the whole thing? In order to get some power out of it, if an intel atom, incidentally, really big processor, in there, you'll need a big ass battery, and it will inevitably get hot. This will make the device tall and heavy, and it will get hot, I can't stress this enough. So you will end up with a large, thick and unweildy phone that's too small and too weak to handle a real workload and too uncomfortable to use casually. Right now, Smartphones are already well established in our lives and have naturally found their place. Maybe this will change one day, but it won't by just slapping Windows onto an oversized mobile phone.
If you want one device to do everything, it will do nothing.
